Postdoctoral research is a human resource development activity aimed at conducting advanced studies after the applicant has obtained their doctoral degree. Postdoctoral research serves as an optional career path for professors and researchers, enabling the development of joint research projects and collaborations with institutions in Brazil and abroad.
How do I apply?
Candidates applying for a Postdoctoral Fellowship must submit a research project in conjunction with a supervising professor, demonstrating the contribution that the proposed project and the candidate's prior training will bring to the group in which the postdoctoral work will be carried out. The supervising professor must be a permanent faculty member of the Postgraduate Program in Dentistry – academic modality – at the São Leopoldo Mandic Faculty, have supervised a completed doctoral thesis, and demonstrate competence and productivity in research in the area of the submitted project.
The Postdoctoral Fellowship will last from 6 (six) months to 2 (two) years, and the postdoctoral fellow may request, with due justification and the consent of the supervising professor, an extension up to a maximum period of 3 (three) years.
Starting in August 2021, students entering the Post-Doctoral internship program will have to pay an academic fee of R$ 710.00 after their post-doctoral application is approved by the Higher Council of the São Leopoldo Mandic Faculty.
To apply for a Post-Doctoral position at the São Leopoldo Mandic Faculty, the candidate must:
a) Hold a doctoral degree, obtained from Graduate Programs recognized by CAPES or from Graduate Programs of Foreign Institutions;
b) Possess experience and scientific output compatible with the research project presented.
It will be the candidate's responsibility to secure the necessary resources for the development of the research; there is no possibility of using budgetary resources from the São Leopoldo Mandic Faculty for this purpose.
Candidates for the Postdoctoral Internship at the São Leopoldo Mandic Faculty must submit the following documents:
a) Letter to the Coordinator of the Postgraduate Program requesting enrollment;
b) Doctoral Diploma; in the case of foreign candidates, authentication by the consular authority is required;
c) Program of Activities, including a Research Project linked to one of the Research Lines of the Stricto Sensu Graduate Program;
d) Updated Lattes Curriculum for Brazilian candidates and updated Curriculum Vitae for foreign candidates;
e) Letter of acceptance from the responsible Professor (Supervisor);
f) Updated Lattes Curriculum Vitae of the responsible Professor;
(g) Declaration of personal availability of time and budgetary resources for the development of the research, in the case of candidates who do not have a scholarship.

Acceptance into the Postdoctoral Internship will be based on an evaluation of the proposal by the Graduate Program in Dentistry Committee, which must be approved by the Higher Council (CONSU).
The candidate's Activity Program must be monitored by the supervising professor, who will submit a semester report to the Coordination of the Postgraduate Program in Dentistry, containing a brief description of the activities carried out during the period, according to the model attached in the forms section.
The postdoctoral researcher will be required to submit a final report presenting the research results, in accordance with the proposed and approved Program of Activities.
For approval of the final research report, the Stricto Sensu Postgraduate Coordination will request an opinion from the responsible professor, based on which it will analyze the submitted report.
At the end of the Post-Doctoral Internship, after approval by CONSU, the General Directorate will determine the issuance of a certificate, which will include the name of the supervising professor, the Postgraduate Program or Faculty and the Research Group in which the project was developed, the title of the research carried out, its duration and funding source, as well as the location, city and country.

For a patent to be used as an alternative format for a dissertation/thesis, it must have been developed during a master's or doctoral program.
If the patent was developed during a master's or doctoral program and at the São Leopoldo Mandic Faculty, the following must be listed as co-authors/co-inventors in the patent registration: the student, the São Leopoldo Mandic Faculty, the thesis advisor, and the coordinator of the program in which the student (author/inventor of the patent) is enrolled.

How long is the dentistry course at Mandic?
Our Dentistry degree program is expected to last 4 (four) years, and the course is full-time, with our students providing care to patients from the first year of their training with us.
Are there any scholarship or funding programs available?
This selection process does not include scholarships or funding programs. However, many of our students seek funding directly from banks or other financial institutions that can currently finance their studies.
What is the deadline for registration?
Applications for the Mandic Dentistry Entrance Exam 2024.1 will be open until November 21, 2023.
What is the date of the entrance exam?
The online exam (via remote system) will be held on November 25, 2023, between 6:00 PM (eighteen hours) and 9:00 PM (twenty-one hours), Brasília time.
How many positions will be offered?
The Mandic Dentistry Entrance Exam 2024.1 offers 60 (sixty) places, distributed as follows: online entrance exam 50 (fifty) places and ENEM score 10 (ten) places.
What is the registration fee?
The registration fee is R$ 100.00 (one hundred reais) for any of the entry methods available in this notice.
How will the online test be conducted?
The objective test consists of 30 (thirty) multiple-choice questions and an essay.
